“The King of Silence” – because sometimes you need to cut yourself off.
Each of us has those moments when the world screams too loudly, and we’ve had enough of the noise, the pressure, and the chaos of everyday life. Then the only rescue is to turn our backs, put on a crown, wrap ourselves in a symbolic cloak, and step into our own silence.
The monkey in the painting, with a crown on its head and melancholy in its eyes, becomes a guide to this realm of detachment. It is a king who needs neither crowds nor applause – silence, a bit of space, and his own thoughts are enough.
On the wall behind him, graffiti shouts “NO FUTURE,” yet in his gaze there is something that says the future is still in our hands – and it begins with a moment of peace, with a single breath.
The red cloak symbolizes strength and protection, and the paper crown reminds us that royalty is not about power but about the ability to be true to oneself. The sad yet attentive expression makes “The King of Silence” a mirror of our own days, when we want to disappear, log off from the world, and build a silence around ourselves.
This painting is not only a rebellion against the noise of modernity but also an affirmation of the right to solitude and a moment of breath. “The King of Silence” understands this better than anyone else.
