Description

Original artwork:

Author: Joanna Karpowicz
Title: “Remember The Snow”
Creation date: 2020 r.
Technique: acrylic on canvas
Artwork size: 90 x 67 cm

In the dimly lit scenery of Szczebrzeszyn, “Remember the Snow” by Joanna Karpowicz evokes a nostalgic memory of a winter evening. Anubis, the mystical guardian of reality’s boundaries, traverses the snowy lanes of the town, where each step seems like an echo of the past. The kiosk, whose warm light once served as a haven for passersby, has now vanished, remaining only on canvas, as a memory of a silent witness to daily stories.
“Unfortunately, the Szczebrzeszyn of my childhood and youth no longer exists. I remember a market full of roses and trees – now it’s just a concrete desert. And that kiosk… that’s where we looked for adventures in comics, it was our source of chewing gum and all those cool magazines…” – recalls the artist.
Remember the Snow” is more than just a painting — it’s an invitation to reflect on the fleeting moments and places that shape our lives. Let this work bring the soul of this small town into your home and offer a moment of contemplation in the warmth of your hearth.
