Ewa Cwikla is an acclaimed portrait photographer whose work stands out with a painterly aesthetic inspired by the art of Flemish and Dutch Old Masters. Born in Poland, she has lived and worked in the Netherlands for many years, where she runs her own photography studio. In her frames, light takes center stage – subtle, nostalgic, filled with warmth and depth. Cwikla photographs people she encounters in everyday life, bringing out their authenticity and the emotions that often lie beneath the surface of the ordinary. Her portraits are not mere documentation, but visual stories about the human experience.
A multiple award-winner at international photography competitions, Ewa Cwikla continuously experiments, creating—among other things—the unique series Gaugany—works that combine photography, painting, and innovative forms of presentation. Her pieces have been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows across Europe, and their distinctive character has earned them a place in collections around the world.
